The 2023 Super Bowl was an event for the ages. Held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs faced off in a battle to decide this season’s NFL champion. The game was full of historic moments, with two brothers competing on opposite teams, the first time two African American starting Quarterbacks were on the field, and a surprise pregnancy announcement from Rihanna during halftime. The Chiefs triumphed with 38 points, giving them the championship title. For those who were unable to witness the game live, or want to relive the highlights, here is a recap of the 2023 Super Bowl.

The Kelce Bowl

Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles made history by becoming the first siblings to ever face off against each other in the Super Bowl. In the end, Travis Kelce, tight end for the Chiefs, took home the win. Despite the bittersweet outcome, their mother, Donna Kelce, showed support for both teams, wearing a custom jersey split down the middle with the colors and logos of the Chiefs and the Eagles. After the game, the brothers hugged on the field, a show of respect and love for one another. Although one brother had to come out on top, Donna Kelce was a winner no matter how the game would have ended.

The Longest Punt Return in Super Bowl History

Kadarius Toney made Super Bowl history with a 65-yard punt return in the fourth quarter of the game, helping the Kansas City Chiefs to a thrilling victory. With just ten minutes left and the Chiefs leading by one point, Toney put on an electrifying performance, sprinting down the field and bringing the ball all the way to the five-yard line. His impressive return set the stage for the Chiefs to score their game-winning touchdown a few plays later, securing the win and sending Chiefs fans into a frenzy of celebration.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Rihanna’s long-awaited return to music was celebrated by football and non-football fans alike when she took the stage for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Her performance ignited the audience as she donned a vibrant red outfit while singing some of her biggest hits, such as “Diamonds” and “Umbrella.” She was accompanied by a large group of talented backup dancers dressed in white and performing intricate choreography. To top it all off, Rihanna revealed her pregnancy with her second child, adding even more excitement to her incredible performance.

Celebrities Making Statements off the Field

Many celebrities made their presence known both on and off the field during the Super Bowl. Pennsylvania native and actor Bradley Cooper showed his support for the Eagles, narrating the teams’ introduction before the game. Iconic television personality Martha Stewart and rap star Snoop Dogg also made a joint appearance in a comical Skechers commercial, where they acted as president and adviser. Blue Ivy, the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, attended the game with her father and cheered on the players and Rihanna. In anticipation of Rihanna’s performance, model and actress Cara Delevigne shared a post on Instagram of her wearing a shirt that read, “Rihanna concert interrupted by a football game. Weird, but whatever.” Adele was also present at the game, even though it appeared she was only there for Rihanna’s halftime show.

Super Bowl LVII will be remembered for its remarkable and legendary moments. Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs won the team’s third Super Bowl title, led by the impressive Patrick Mahomes.
